The 2022 vintage surpassed expectations in both quantity and quality despite a summer drought. The high temperatures brought the harvest forward by a week in the Grave and two weeks in the Collio. The lack of water was mitigated by investments in irrigation systems. Pighin is converting all Collio and eventually Grave vineyards to a micronized drip systems that reduces the use of water and energy compared to the rain system. The quality of the grapes from this harvest is similar to that obtained in the best vintages.
