Hanzell's Estate Chardonnay is the flagship Chardonnay bottling from this venerable, Burgundian varietal specialist in the Sonoma Valley. An innovative winery, Hanzell was the first to create temperature-controlled stainless steel fermenters and isolated a malolactic bacteria that is still used today, there and in wineries worldwide. Considered age-worthy and collectible, Hanzell Chardonnay has a record of 60 years of vintages to back it up--since 1957! This wine is a blend of estate-grown Chardonnay from the winery's Ambassador’s 1953 block, Zellerbach, Day, de Brye, and Ramos vineyards.
