The nose is balanced and forward with friendly tones of apples, quince, marshmallows, pears, honeysuckle, vanilla beans, and yellow flowers. There is good balance, but this lacks depth and expression. The Medium bodied feel shows off the balance of the nose while it also shows the lack of depth along with crisp, medium+ acidity. The tones are nice and friendly but are more surface tones than ones that penetrate. This is a good wine to see what Marsannay can do with Chardonnay, but not much more past that.
