Celebrate St. Joseph’s Day with these Italian Wines!

Happy St. Joseph’s Day!
We might not have Zeppole, but we do have a great selection of Italian wines for pairing with every course of your Italian meal, from aperitivo to dolce! Some of our favorites are featured below – hope you enjoy them!

Cormons Friuli Isonzo Pinot Grigio 2011
$16.99 |
Sale $11.99

This DOC Isonzo Pinot Grigio presents fruity aromas of chamomile, banana, pineapple, and rennet apples. It has a refined taste that is mellow, with flavors of almond and hazelnut. This white wine can be served as an aperitif and with antipasti in general; also with cold cuts and white meats. It rests for 6-7 months on its own yeasts in large, oval-shaped oak barrels of three different essences.

Famiglia Pasqua Passimento 2011
$16.99 |
Sale $14.99
*Eligible for 10% case discount!*
Following the Amarone winemaking technique of appassimento, this wine is 40% Merlot, 30% Corvina, and 30% Croatina. You would think that air-dried Merlot would be over the top, but this expression is reigned in by the natural freshness of the two indigenous grapes. A lovely shade of garnet-ruby red and showing thick, luscious concentration, this wine’s aromas are one-dimensional yet lively: black cherry, brown sugar, and exotic spice steal the show. Drink 2014-2018.

Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino 2010
*R. Parker Rated 98pts!*

$84.99 | Sale $79.99
Coming Soon! Call to reserve a bottle now – we WILL sell out!A striking wine that shows uncompromising varietal pureness, albeit in a most concentrated and elaborate form; there’s so much happening on the nose and the wine brings you to cherry, spice, licorice, cured meat, pressed rose and grilled meat in equal measure. No one element overpowers the next. The mouthfeel is bright with the kind of fruit intensity that promises long cellar aging. Never have I encountered a Il Poggione Brunello as beautiful as the one released this year. This is one of the highest expressions of Sangiovese you will ever taste. The longer the wine stays in the glass, the more it offers in terms of complexity and intensity. This Brunello is only at the beginning of a long road ahead – a true standout that can be enjoyed for up to 20 years ahead.
